Ciao!
How did you solve your problems with xLanguage? I saw you posted something on the project comment page of xL about the php-version? What version didn’t work and what did? Or was there some PHP-options to be adjusted? I’d be VERY greatful if you could share…
Thanks!
Andreas

I had a very old php version on my site. Having it updated to a new version (I can’t say you what php version I’m running for the sake of security and cause I’m paranoic) solved all the problems regarding language tag cleary shown on every text of my blog.
Now as you can see I have translations, cookie preferences, nice permalinks and widget titles that work well.
Have you some problems with xTranslate and your blog? Just point me to the erroneous page and I will try to figure out what’s wrong.

Ciao!
I now have qtranslate working, but it seems that xlanguage is better, like you say.
If I deactivate qtranslate, what happens to the bilingual content? Do I lose anything?
Grazie!

No you don’t lose anything. You must only set xLanguage in order to recognize the square brackets lan_en, lang_it tags in:
settings -> xLanguage -> options -> “Square Bracket, then XHTML if no square bracket tag were found.”
One of the best feauture of xLanguage is the single line mode. If you have a single line entry, like title, tags, categories etc. you can just write:
The english name | Il titolo italiano | Le title francais and do not fill every single entry with annoying square brackets structure.
If you want to install xLanguage I can help you with first steps.
You can even choose the character separator.

Grazie Francesco,
I have activated xLanguage.
I will accept help for the configuration.
At the moment the blog is looking a bit ugly.
Send me an e-mail.
Thanks.
