A programmer’s paranoia

I _really_ hate with all my heart those people that criticize me starting with a speech the sounds in this way:

HOW can you say that (insert here a thing that is widely accepted as beautiful) is ugly if you haven’t blah blah blah.

Well I admit that judging a book only from the cover is a wrong thing so I decided to make the big step.

I hate all contemporary italian cinema productions and I try to stay miles away from a movie theater cause I’ve got big delusions in near past. But I don’t want to be a superficial guy so I decided to watch an italian movie in order to have an excuse for evading future criticisms (stopping the speech with a laconic “you cannot talk in this way cause I’ve seen blah blah”).

I decided to illegally download a cine-rip of the most publicized “movie” of later weeks. The “movie” is called “Come tu mi vuoi“. Literally “(I will be) as you want me”.

This is a “movie” done for teenagers in which we can find the most famous young actors currently available in the spaghetti country. It’s the story of a superficial rich boy that has some problems at the university. He takes some private lessons with one of his old friend as the teacher. The friend is smart a phenotypical ugly young woman. Love story, the girl change her appearance in order to be pleasant to him, sex, the girl become superficial, he understands that a beautiful body is not the only thing, happy ending blah blah blah.

It’s the most ugly movie I’ve ever seen after the sequel of “2001 a space odyssey”. The idea that it’s the base of all the movie has been used in 2^255 movies. Bad photography, bad direction, bad scenery, bad actors (they act like monkeys), bad timing, bad plot, bad music, even the ending titles are bad. Now:

HOW IN HELL CAN A HUMAN BEING WITH NORMAL CEREBRAL ACTIVITY CONSIDER THAT CRAP SEQUENCE OF PHOTOGRAMS A “MOVIE” OR, PLEASE GOD SAVE US, A GOOD MOVIE?

We have Pasolini, Rossellini, Salvatores, Antognoni, Fellini, Zeffirelli, De Sica (the father). We have all the neo-realism, we produced bunch of wonderful movies. We got oscars. We had “Nuovo cinema Paradiso” and “Mediterraneo” just few years ago. Now we have “come tu mi vuoi”, “tre metri sopra il cielo” (three meters above the sky). That fat writer sells thousands books.

Shit that hurts.
